Hi friends,
I come to you with a heavy heart.
October 4th, 2024, I was living a semblance of the American dream: working on finally finishing a degree, working a solid 9-5 that I'd been employed with for years, and signed the mortgage for my first home- a feat not thought possible for a foster kid. The first year in my home was spent figuring out just how home ownership worked, between massive repairs- fifteen thousand for HVAC, twelve thousand for plumbing repairs, and the likes. Things were rough, as I was alone without advice. But, I carried on.
Fast forward to July 2025: my health begins to decline. I started experiencing seizures, bleeding, and other deeply concerning symptoms. I begin exploring medically with my doctor for why I was feeling so poor. Many changes began to happen in my workplace with completely new management, and the unmanaged stress and anxiety caused me to have a heart attack at 29. [Image below of me keeping a brave face for my best friend.]
Upon returning to my workplace, swamped with medical appointments and distress, my performance slipped and I was fired. This effectively cut my insurance in the same day, causing the insurance company to back charge me for all of the testing and hospital costs, and leaving me on the hook for all future testing and medical costs.
In the time since my medical emergency, I have applied for countless jobs while healing. At this point, it has been in the hundreds of applications. I am actively working a part time job in a call center. It is not making the ends meet, and hours are not stable. My savings are depleted. There is nowhere else for me to turn.
Friends, strangers, anyone... I am asking for your help. Begging for it. I don't want to lose my home. I worked so hard to get this far- scrimped and saved for years. I plan to work even harder- finish my degree and make a real career for myself. But, I cannot do it all by myself. Please, anything is appreciated.
