On April 14, 2024, a devastating fire tore through our bakery in historic downtown Snoqualmie, leaving our beloved Chickadee Bakeshop & Snoqualmie Pie Co. in ruins. What was once a warm and welcoming space, filled with the aroma of freshly baked treats, is now nothing but ashes and memories, almost a year later, and a lot of road blocks, our spirit remains unbroken.

Chickadee Bakeshop & Snoqualmie Pie Co. has always been more than just a bakery—it’s been a place of community, comfort, and connection. Over the past year, we poured everything we had into bringing Chickadee to life in the former Café Minee space. It was a long and challenging journey—securing the lease was just the beginning. We invested countless hours and resources into updating the power to the space, ensuring safety and longevity for the business. Unexpected delays in acquiring power slowed our progress, but we persevered, determined to create something truly special for the community. Due to these delays and increased buildout costs, funds originally slated for essential baking equipment had to be redirected to completing the buildout, further straining our resources.

We also want to take a moment to recognize and express our deepest gratitude to the amazing construction vendors and suppliers who helped bring our vision to life. Their dedication, craftsmanship, and patience throughout the entire buildout process played an essential role in creating the space we dreamed of baking in for years to come.

Now, we need your help to rise from the ashes. The fire took away so much—the heart of our kitchen, our carefully chosen equipment, and the ingredients we had lovingly prepared for upcoming orders. Our insurance coverage was solid, but the unexpected reality is that rebuilding in today’s world comes with staggering costs. With everything from materials to labor soaring in price, we simply cannot do this alone.

Your donations will go directly toward:

  • Covering equipment funding shortfalls due to redirected buildout costs
  • Providing startup ingredient supplies to get back to baking

Every single contribution, no matter the amount, brings us closer to the day we can welcome you back into our bakery with the warm scent of fresh pies and pastries filling the air. If you’re unable to donate, sharing our story with your friends and family means the world to us.

Chickadee Bakeshop & Snoqualmie Pie Co. is more than just a business—it’s a dream built on love, resilience, and community. And right now, we need our community more than ever. With your support, we can rebuild, recover, and return stronger than before and get back to rise, relax and reconnect. We still believe in “Eat Pie and Be Kind”, and thank you in advance for your kindness.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey. We can’t wait to bake for you again soon.

With love and gratitude,
Katie & Dorie
