I have only met a few people in my life thus far who are truly genuine and step up for those in need. My friend and her partner have done just that for her 7 and 9 year old niece and nephew. They have dedicated their professional careers to serving others as Healthcare professionals, first responders and volunteer firefighters being recognized as cornerstone contributors for our rural community. This selflessness transfers into their personal lives and most recently has been highlighted even more.
She has always been an active member in her family and when her niece and nephew needed an advocate she stepped up along with their grandfather to be their caregivers. As their grandfather began to struggle with caring for the children she and her partner without hesitancy stepped up and she was given custody. Unfortunately and very unexpectedly the grandfather passed away. While their grandfather did his best, financial constraints were a huge source of stress leading to debt which has now been passed on and impacts my friend and impacts the family's livelihood.
My friend continues to take this in stride but it lends to the saying "no good deed..." and she and the family could use some of the selflessness and support they provide others daily.
Humbly, anything helps.
