We successfully completed the WA360 last June and now Team Salish Seasters kindly asks for your continued support as we gear up for the Race to Alaska on June 14, 2026.

What's the Race to Alaska?

The Race to Alaska is a 750-mile boat race up the Inside Passage from Port Townsend, WA to Ketchikan, Alaska. The rules are simple - No motors. No support.

Is that like a sailing thing?

We, a team of four women, will be sailing on our trusty 1978 Santa Cruz 27, equipped with a pedal drive (alternative propulsion), a full set of sails and just enough electronics to power essential instruments. Think of it as “minimalist sailing" through open water, tidal rapids, and shifty narrows. We'll push ourselves personally and physically as we make critical decisions about navigation, sailing through the night, sheltering from approaching gales and so on. Knowing that we have a community of supported behind us will help see us through!

What’s in the team name?

We are four women hailing, based in the Bellingham, Washington area. With deep respect and gratitude, we honor the original caretakers of the Salish Sea. In their honor, we seek to challenge both our physical and mental selves, as the Salish Coastal Tribal peoples have done since time immemorial.

How will your support be used?

Having made an initial investment in a boat your contributions will help us with registration fees, safety equipment, travel logistics, provisions, boat maintenance, etc.
