Aims
- Educate civilians on the realities of military life and mental health.
- Build connections between service members, veterans, and the local community.
- Advocate for stronger mental health resources for service members and veterans.
- Empower future leaders, like myself, to continue this mission beyond service.
Greetings! I'm Roszaria Simmons, a graduating senior at Hampton University majoring in Criminal Justice with a Military Science minor on the pre-law track. In May 2026, I will commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, becoming the first officer in my family and a proud first-generation college graduate!
My initiative, B.R.I.D.G.E.S. (Building Resilience, Instilling Duty, and Giving Empowerment for our Service members), was started to uplift our service members and build meaningful connections between them and the community. My passion is rooted in camaraderie, connections, and morale; and I'm excited to carry this initiative with me beyond college as I pursue law school and a future in the Army JAG Corps!
Support my journey to the Miss Hampton Roads Pageant! With this title, I’ll have the opportunity to further my cause and passion of establishing safe spaces for military service members. Through my cause, it is a lifelong commitment of mine to create BRIDGES strong enough to cross over, leading us all towards a future where no one is left behind.
