We've lived in and around the city our whole lives. Wasted thousands on paying rent to slumlords. Now after over two years of living in the same house where the landlord refuses to take care of multiple mold issues and house degradation that's been covered up in the past, I refuse to pay rent for two months explaining to him the work that needs to be done and he files for eviction.
Normally in this situation I thought I could fight it having the money in escrow but these bastards are so sly now that he isn't even asking for the rent, just the return of his property because our year lease is up and we're now on a month to month with less than 2 weeks to leave and no ability to appeal.
At this point my wife, daughter and myself have about had it with this city, lifestyle and abuse of the system. I've decided to take my family further North. We want to Homestead and start a new life away from the bullshit. We've been working and saving for a good while now but with the market the way it right now I don't think we can afford the land and all the materials I'll need to start building.
That's where you come in. Any little bit helps us get closer to our dream. I plan to log and grade the land myself with some private help and build a nice size cabin to start. We want to make our own garden and raise our own livestock. To live as freely and peacefully as possible in this day and age.
