Our family is going through one of the hardest moments of our lives after my daughter was struck by a car while crossing the street in a crosswalk in Dartmouth. She suffered serious injuries, including multiple breaks in her leg, and has already endured surgery, hospital stays, and ongoing medical care. Watching your child go through pain like this is something no parent is ever prepared for.
As a single mother, I am doing everything I can to stay strong for her while also trying to keep our household afloat financially. I’ve had to miss work and leave work unexpectedly multiple times in order to care for her, attend appointments, and be by her side during recovery. Between lost income, transportation, medical-related expenses, and everyday bills, we are struggling to keep up.
