Help Us Support a Man Who Has Spent His Life Supporting Everyone Else
At 67 years old, my dad, Jesus still works two jobs.
For anyone who knows him, that probably comes as no surprise. My whole life, I have watched my dad work—not just hard, but with a sense of responsibility, pride, and purpose that is difficult to put into words.
He is always on the go. Always helping. Always serving. Always making sure everyone around him is taken care of.
Now, for the first time in as long as I can remember, my dad will have no choice but to stop.
Jesus is preparing to undergo a bypass surgery, a major procedure that is expected to leave him unable to work for 3 to 4 months.
For a man who has spent his entire life working, providing, and carrying others, this changes everything.
Forty years ago, at just 27 years old, my dad immigrated from Mexico with my mom, my brother, and me in search of a better life. In Mexico, he had been a professor. He left behind his profession, his home, and everything familiar for one reason: to give his family a better future. He arrived in this country and immediately went to work at a golf club.
And he never stopped.
For 40 years, the golf club has remained a constant in his life—but one job was rarely all he carried. My dad has always worked two jobs, doing whatever honest work was necessary to provide for us. Over the years, he worked as an IT cable installer, refilled vending machines, and took on other jobs along the way.
The title never mattered to him.
What mattered was providing.
As his son, I grew up watching a man who had once been a professor in Mexico start over from the ground up. I watched him leave one job and go to the next. I watched him work long days, keep moving when he was tired, and somehow still find the energy to show up for his family—and for anyone else who needed him.
That is who my dad is.
Jesus is a devoted husband, an incredible father, and a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren who adore him. He is Christ-centered, kind, humble, and generous. He is the kind of man who never hesitates to help someone in need and will go out of his way to make life easier for the people around him. And if you know Jesus, you know his presence.
You know his smile. His energy. His laughter. The way his simple, radiant charisma can light up an entire room. He is the life of the party—not because he tries to be the center of attention, but because joy seems to follow him wherever he goes.
He has spent his life showing up for others.
Now, he is the one who needs help.
A bypass is a major surgery, and the road to recovery will be long. For a 67-year-old man who still works two jobs, being unable to work for 3 to 4 months will create a significant financial burden.
The man who has always provided will now be unable to work.
The man who has always shown up for everyone else must now focus on healing.
So today, as his son, I am asking for help for the man who has never hesitated to help anyone else.
Our hope is to ease the financial burden of the months ahead so my dad can focus on what matters most: making it through surgery, healing fully, and giving his heart the time it needs to recover—without the constant worry of how bills and everyday expenses will be covered while he is unable to work.
Forty years ago, Jesus came to this country to make a difference.
He started over.
He worked.
He sacrificed.
He provided.
He served.
And he never stopped moving.
Today, at 67 years old, after a lifetime of caring for everyone else, his heart is asking him to stop.
If you are able to donate, any amount will make a meaningful difference. If you cannot give financially, sharing this fundraiser and keeping my dad in your prayers would mean more than we can express.
He has spent his life making everyone else’s load a little lighter. We hope, together, we can now do the same for him.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every donation, every share, every prayer, and every act of kindness shown to Jesus during this journey.
