Help Us Save Our Twin Girls
Hi, my name is Jade, and my fiancé Mike and I are expecting twin girls. I’m writing this with a mother’s heart full of urgency, fear, and hope.
We were just told our twins are suffering from Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS)—a rare, life-threatening condition that happens when identical twins share a placenta. One baby is receiving too much blood, and it’s putting dangerous pressure on her heart. She already has fluid building around her heart, and her condition is deteriorating quickly. Meanwhile, her sister is barely growing and is in the 2nd percentile, not receiving enough blood or nutrients.
Our doctors told us we don’t have much time. We’ve been urgently referred to a specialist team in San Francisco for fetal laser surgery—a procedure to separate the placenta and give both babies a fighting chance.
💡 The surgery is covered by insurance—and we’re incredibly thankful for that. But we have to get there twice in a matter of days: once for critical testing, and again for the procedure.
We’re doing everything we can to hold it together, but the timing couldn’t be harder. After a sudden eviction earlier this month, we’ve been staying in a Motel 6 until we can move in with my fiancé’s father. We’ve had to pause working while dealing with this medical crisis, and we simply don’t have the means to cover even the basic expenses to make this possible.
We are asking for help with:
- 🚗 Travel expenses (gas, emergency car maintenance, registration)
- 🏨 Temporary lodging near the SF hospital during testing & surgery
- 🍽️ Food and necessities while we’re away from home
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to getting the help our daughters need. If you can’t donate, please share this fundraiser with others—it makes a difference.
This is an overwhelming and terrifying time, but we believe in miracles. And with your support, we believe we can bring both our girls home safely.
From the bottom of our hearts,
Thank you.
