L.R Gould who is a retired Marine and retired Capital Police Officer was the victim of a scam, perpetrated by an unknown male who used someone that Mr. Gould was an acquaintance with (a preachers wife) to convince him to invest in a bogus business, by which Mr. Gould lost a large sum of money. Once the scam was discovered, it was to late. He reported the situation to his bank and the authorities, but nothing could be done for him to recoup his losses. Who does that to a 70 year old person?
This situation has led him to borrow money from friends and family to pay his bills, and to prevent him from losing his home, which is very close to going into foreclosure.
Mr. Gould after retiring from Capital Police has worked and continues to work at his part time job, but it is not enough for him to get back on his feet financially. So I am hoping that the generosity of those who may have had a similar experience and even those who have not may feel in their hearts to give to this fund for this Veteran who served his country not just once but twice.
