Together, we're changing the future for youth in foster care. LGA is a UMD student-led organization dedicated to advocating and volunteering for youth in foster care. Everything we've accomplished below from giving resources, building connection, or raising awareness has been made possible because of the people that believe in our mission:
• 2024 Giving Project: 70 gifts, $1,050 raised
• 2025 Giving Project: 100 gifts, $1,500 raised
• 2024 Comfort Cases: 30 backpacks packed for youth entering care
• 2025 Comfort Cases: 60 backpacks packed
• 2025 Flower Sale: $881 raised, funding 3 Dell laptops for youth pursuing their education
• Supported Christmas for Kids in D.C., helping reconnect 300 siblings in care.
• Supported a Foster Youth Mentorship & Tour event with 60 mentors and youth
• Welcomed speakers including Maryland Supreme Court Justice Angela Eaves, Comfort Cases founder Rob Scheer, and CINA attorney Richard Perry
