Shaquoia Bass-Moody was a 27 year old mother of a 1 year old daughter Josie from Oakland, Ca, and the victim of a violent crime. Shaquoia had a bright smile that would light up an arena! Shaquoia brought camaraderie, love, and happiness into the lives every person she met. She cared deeply for the community built from her journey through foster care. This helped her overcome many of life's obstacles while navigating this harsh world. Shaquoia was not only a loving mother, but also a health care provider in San Francisco, California. She brought professionalism, kindness and love into all the lives of those she cared for. It is with great sadness that we share the tragic loss of Shaquoia on February 11, 2021 sadly, just two days prior to her 28th birthday. Shaquoia was taken from us entirely too soon due to senseless, unnecessary, and unacceptable gun violence in Oakland, California.

Words are not able to give light on how much she means to this community. Shaquoia is survived by her grandmother, brothers, sisters, a daughter, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Through this campaign, it is the hope to raise funds for Shaquoia's 1 year old daughter and family for support to help them during this emotionally and financially difficult time. As you may know when tragedies such as this happens there are many difficult paths to cross economically, leaving family and friends left to worry instead of processing grief, or honoring the life of the beautiful Shaquoia Bass-Moody. During this time, in the world's current make up, this can be draining in a number of ways. Especially, when working together to raise a motherless child. Oakland does not have many resources, and when horrible events like this take place, families who are not financially fit are left scrambling. Any donation is a blessing, and the family is forever grateful. If you can donate, just click on the donate button and give whatever you can. If you are not able to donate, don’t forget you can still leave messages and comments in memory of Shaquoia. Please, share this with everyone you know.
