Help Us Get Roxy the Care She Needs

Roxy is our sweet 11-year-old Victorian Bulldog and a cherished member of our family. Over the past week, we noticed she developed a persistent cough and significant swelling in her abdomen. Even though she’s still eating, drinking, and trying to enjoy life, we knew something wasn’t right.

We immediately took her to the veterinarian and spent the last of our savings—on an exam, bloodwork, and an ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed that Roxy has a large amount of fluid surrounding her organs, which is causing the swelling and making it difficult for her to breathe comfortably.

At this point, she needs additional testing, treatment, and possibly procedures to determine the cause of the fluid and give her the best chance at feeling better. Unfortunately, after covering her initial diagnostics, we simply don’t have the financial resources to continue her care on our own.

Asking for help isn’t easy, but Roxy has given us 11 years of unconditional love, loyalty, and happiness. She deserves every opportunity to receive the medical care she needs.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small the amount, it will go directly toward Roxy’s veterinary care. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much and help us reach more people.

Thank you for taking the time to read Roxy’s story and for any support you can give. Every donation, share, and kind thought means the world to us as we fight to get our girl the help she needs.

❤️ Thank you for helping Roxy.

Update on Roxy: the fluid in her body has continued to fill up. The first three days we saw a decrease in fluid and an increase in appetite. The last two days have been a major turn. She is in a constant state of looking so uncomfortable. She’s at the Vet again today where they are manually draining the fluid. This is what the vet called a “bandaid” it’s no guarantee that this is going to stop the fluid from filling right back up. We figured any attempt of temporary relief is better than nothing. We will bring her home on a lasix again to help continue to drain the fluid. If she swells back up our next plan will be end of life care. The vet has said that in her current state whatever she has going on is progressing and aggressively, in a matter to keep her quality of life, we will be putting our sweet girl to rest soon. ❤️‍🩹
