Meet Team Odyssey – Team Odyssey is comprised of seven of the Caddo Kai students that are striving to earn their black belts, as well as building their character, learning to work together as a team, and gaining confidence by performing in front of crowds. This team is the best of the best in our school and each member has worked tirelessly to be a part of the team. Ranging in age from seven to sixteen, this team has formed a bond with one another and generates an incredible indomitable spirit.
The purpose of the Demo/Tournament Team (Team Odyssey) allows the students that are chosen a chance to explore the areas of weapons, specialty katas, and to have fun while demonstrating and performing.
As all sports cost money, we are reaching out to our community for support. Team Odyssey would like to be able to go to tournaments to compete. Competition is not the main or sole purpose of the team, but rather to formulate a group of students that can perform at schools to promote confidence, integrity, education, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Last year we competed in The Bamboo League and had many of our Demo Team and students placed in the top 20. We also performed in a few of the Caddo Mills community events and supported the Senior Center with building maintenance as well as began an exercise class for them.
This year, Team Odyssey will represent Caddo Mills in 2 two of the largest martial arts organizations in Texas and the Nation. Team Odyssey will compete to qualify for the end of the year finals in both The Amateur Organization of Karate (AOK) and Texas Karate Organization (TKO)
Watch for Team Odyssey as they will be performing at many Caddo Mills and surrounding community events visit.
The school is open to visitors and spectators if you would like to come and see what we are all about.
