Hello my name is Azur, I am the oldest daughter of Scot Walton. In January of 2023, my father passed from a series of events causing a broken heart, leading to cardiac arrest. My dad was born in Bangkok Thailand, and while that might seem glamorous now it was not for a boy in foster care in the 70’s. Unfortunately, my dad was abused and uncared for in his early years; leaving a permanent scar on his heart. My dad would constantly tell stories of his past, especially his time in Thailand as if it was yesterday. Once he told me a story about his deep longing for a family. He was found by CPS when he was 4 and not adopted until the age of 8. During this time he remembered talking, praying to the sky. Asking for a family. Pledging his heart and soul to god if he would grant this one wish. Fast forward twenty years when he met my Mother and had me he was filled with infinite joy and excitement! He finally had his wish, a family of his own and he named me after the sky in honor of his wish coming true. Azure, a bright blue like a cloudless sky. My dad tried his best to be a father, unfortunately his trauma overwhelmingly haunted him and he was never given the proper care and therapy he needed, leading to him into a dark lifestyle. I don’t blame him for wanting to subdue his demons and not knowing how to. All he ever wanted was to be loved and coincidentally died from his heart not working. My dad may not have been the poster dad of dad’s but he loved his 4 kids with every fiber of his being. I can still feel his unconditional love. My dad was also a unstoppable talker, a hilarious jokester, annoyingly at times. He loved music, food, especially thai food and his endless family of birds. Even though Thailand was a traumatic experience for him he always wanted to go back. Towards the end of his life he was prevented because of his heart condition, I promised him I would connect his legacy to his home. This money will help me honor that promise and support my siblings and I fly to Thailand to spread his ashes. Anything truly helps and if you feel called to assist, I speak for all my siblings when I say this, we will forever be grateful. Thank you for your time and support!
