Film production of Shane's Story. Written by Blake Clark! Shane’s Story is about a teenage boy who has a secret that will destroy everything he loves; friends, family and life as he knows it. He is tormented by bullies, his parents reject him, and he has decided to take his own life. This film deals with prominent issues that come out of the desperation and loneliness many homosexual young adult's encounter. Shane was raised in a “typical” Middle American family with old fashioned values. He has to confront so many serious issues, but the greatest is feeling completely isolated and alone. With no one to turn to, he is desperate and feels there is no other option but to take his own life. He just wants the misery to end. This story deals with some very dark topics, but there also is a lot of humor and light built into the story along the way. Despite all of the obstacles Shane has to face, in the end he finds love, friendship and companionship in places he least expected. Why are we making this film? Recently in the news, there was a story about a father who couldn't handle his 14-year-old son being gay. He took a gun, shot his son in the head. His response on why he killed him was because “I would rather have a dead son than a gay one”. We know this film is going to make a lot of noise when we start showing it. It’s not for everyone, and we know that, but if this film helps only one person, then it is worth getting made. This is not a typical Hollywood film; it is very open and being shot in a very realistic approach to its topic. The story line will appeal and reach out to all people, of all ages who are dealing with either being gay, having a gay family member, or a gay friend. They discover they are not alone. With your support we can show the audience that there is hope, no one is alone and suicide is not the answer.
