If you needed a reason to celebrate, all of your efforts to help Aboud have resulted in the family being able to evacuate to Jordan for treatment. Aboud, along with his Mother, Father, and Grandfather left last week.  We thank you for supporting Aboud, and will be closing his fund as he has what needed. 

Unfortunately, Mohammed was not able to go along with his family and is ever more isolated in Gaza. A day or two after his family departed Mohammed had heart surgery. There were complications just after the surgery, but he is recovering finally. He is struggling to help himself around as he is there with one family member who isn't always there with him, and he is very lonely. He needs roughly $40 a month to cover needed Bloodpressure medicine, $500 a month to cover food, and he has a remaining debt of $7600 from his families past medical care. More than anything Mohammed would like to join his family outside of Gaza. To do that will require another $5000 beyond the $7600. Aboud's brother Mohammed is encountering an extra struggle right now. Over the entire time of the genocide in Gaza, when they didn't have the funds for medical emergency, they developed debt, rather than be turned away for life-saving treatment. Mohammed himself needed heart surgery recently. Their Mother was injured and treated. Their father has ongoing diabetes, heart problems and debilitating asthma. On top of this Aboud, who is recovering well from surgeries after his severe injuries, needs ongoing treatments at the hospital for the next few months until he can walk again. 

What all this means is that Mohammed over time had to owe for some of these treatments and owes $9,600 still out of $20,000 that was borrowed. In addition to trying to pay this back with nothing but his own fund, he has ongoing expenses for his father and brother's care that total $500 each month. So far we have raised $110 of that amount for this month. We still need $390 for this month and anything extra will go toward paying down the $9,600 of medical costs that are outstanding.
