Hello wonderful people! I have students who need all sorts of supplies, and I would love your help to raise the funds to buy for them. First of all, thank you so much for even opening up this page, I really appreciate it. My name is Grace, Ms. Grace to my students, and I am currently a substitute teacher at Marie-Reed Elementary School. This is my first time in an elementary setting and these kids have brought me so much joy.
This school is a D.C. public school with Pre-K - 5th grade. We have a lot of students, so we constantly have a need for basic supplies like uniforms. I'm starting this fund so that I can help buy the kids uniforms, backpacks, water bottles, general school supplies, and anything a else a student needs to feel comfortable and welcome at school.
My ultimate goal is to have enough of these items so that kids who are in need have the option to choose. It makes a big difference to a kid when they have the option to choose. Think about when you were a kid. If you could pick out your backpack to make it personal to you, that would mean so much more than just being given one at random.
I truly just want these kids to feel like they belong at school and that they are welcome and celebrated in our classrooms.
