I take immense pride in being a reliable support system for my family, my community, and even for strangers in need. Whenever an opportunity arises to lend a hand, I do my best to step up and assist in whatever way I can, whether that means offering a listening ear or pitching in with physical help. However, about two months ago, life threw me a curveball that turned everything I held dear upside down. I lost nearly everything that meant the world to me, which felt like losing a piece of my heart. In light of these challenges and with my beloved Kaiser nearing the end of his life, I made the difficult decision to return home to the Florida Keys. I thought this change could provide a fresh start, not only for me but also for Kaiser, allowing him to pass away in a place that felt like home.

Just two days into this new chapter of my life, I was hopeful and excited. I had successfully secured a place to live—no small feat in this competitive area—and felt a sense of accomplishment as I headed home. Along the way, I decided to stop by and help out some dear friends of mine, hoping to spread a bit of joy and support during a challenging time. Unfortunately, a series of unfortunate events took a troublesome turn, and I found myself in trouble with the law. It’s a hard truth that sometimes, a good deed goes unpunished, and I certainly learned that the hard way.

Starting from scratch has never been easy, and I now find myself with even fewer resources than before. While I'm gearing up to start work in the near future, the anticipation makes time feel like it’s standing still. Thankfully, I have a great support system around me—friends and family willing to lift me up during these trying times. Yet, I still find myself in need of a bit more help as I navigate this complicated transition. It’s a journey filled with ups and downs, and I’m trying to remain hopeful and resilient as I move forward, one step at a time.
