My mom, Digna Caro, is 70 years old and fighting the hardest battle of her life.
Last year, she was diagnosed with tuberculosis in her spine. After 9 long months of treatment, we celebrated her recovery in May 2025. But sadly, the bacteria had stayed hidden in two fragile vertebrae weakened by osteoporosis. Months later, the TB came back stronger, this time reaching her brain and causing tuberculous meningitis.
She’s currently hospitalized in Lima, Peru, and urgently needs complex spinal surgery. Her vertebrae are collapsing, and without this operation, she will lose her ability to walk. The infection remains hidden in the damaged area, and without surgical intervention, her body won’t be able to heal.

The surgery is complex and delicate, lasting over 5 hours and requiring screws, bone cement, and a biological graft. The out of pocket cost is $27,000 USD for the whole procedure.
My mom is a woman of deep faith and unshakable strength. But right now, she needs help.
If you feel moved to support her, thank you with all our hearts. And if you can’t donate, please pray for her and share her story. Every act of kindness brings us closer to the miracle of seeing her walk again—healed, joyful, and free from TB. 🙏
