I am Mahmoud Abu Jalila, I was born in Gaza 16 years ago, and I witnessed five wars there, but I have never seen the ferocity of this war, and I believe it is the most violent in the world. In this war, I lost my best friend, whom we always planned to travel together out of entertainment, but now I have decided to travel with my family out of the desire to escape death. We try to survive the massacres that occur against civilians, and we try to preserve our lives as much as possible by leaving our country, our home, and everything we own, and traveling far away.
After that, we were taken out of our homes and into tents during this war, without taking anything from our house except some papers and a little money.
Tents that do not have water and cannot protect us from the cold of winter or heavy rain, and do not at least have our own bathroom in which to relieve ourselves. We tried to make the tents somewhat similar to the home by spending the money we have on buying the basic things that any home needs, making a bathroom, and making what we need in the tents.
After doing all that, we hoped that we would return to our homes as soon as possible, but now we are without homes. Anyone whose home was not completely destroyed by the war has been partially destroyed and has become uninhabitable.
Form this moment, my family and I decided to travel to seek safety.
Unfortunately, money is the biggest obstacle and we do not have enough money to enable us to leave the land of death to the land of salvation in Egypt, and for this reason I need your help.
Your donations will be the difference between life and death for me and my family.
Today (August 16, 2025):
"I wrote this six months ago. Today I tell you: Even our home was completely destroyed, and we have no shelter at all. Many of us have died. I have been truly let down for six months, and to this day I have not found a single donor to rebuild a home after the one that was destroyed, or to send me abroad to receive treatment for my asthma from the dust of war, or even to live in safety."
