We purchased The Dewey by Buccaneer Homes manufactured by Clayton Homes this September 5th 2025 made a year.
March is when we realized we had multiple holes in our roof with screws missing and vents sealed improperly or not at all. We immediately reported these issues and no one came to fix these problems until the very end of May after multiple heavy rains during our waiting period. Water was documented coming into our home in multiple locations and that’s when the damage began. (This was when it was visible to us because we were home.)
We reached out multiple times and our home was never fixed properly or fixed at all. One contractor would blame the other or they would try to blame everything on condensation! If you have a mobile home I’m sure this sounds very familiar. We started seeing mold growth and that is when we knew this was now a major issue! After not hearing from the company on when they could repair the home correctly after having someone out there I contacted them to let them know we would be hiring an inspector and filing a complaint with our state fire Marshall. After the home inspection was complete we received a 50 page report on things wrong with our home. We scheduled an inspection with the fire Marshall and was awaiting that date when unfortunately our oldest son fell back asleep one morning causing our bathtub to overflow which was located in the back area of the house which is not close to any of our mold findings. It was caught quickly and cleaned up. Dry time was even called to come in and set up and get everything dried out the RIGHT way!
During the removal of materials that were from the bathtub the company discovered preexisting damage at our front door which was mold on both sides of our walls. We have stayed on the phone with the manufacturer trying to get everything fixed correctly with not much success because they are now blaming the damage and mold on the bathtub accident.
They will not honor our inspection because they say it’s not a licensed HUD Inspector however it is a licensed one. We have the types of mold that can be life threatening present visibly & airborne.
To make matters worse our baby boy (he’s 14) woke up one Sunday complaining and by that afternoon was in the ER having emergency surgery to remove his appendix. These mold results show that appendicitis COULD BE caused from certain molds found in the home….. coincidence…?
The money donated will go to fighting the manufacturer to right their wrongs & possibly help other families as well!
If you can not donate please just pray!!!
