There are some people whose love story stays with you forever, and Windy and Cris are those people.
I’ve been friends with Windy I was 13 years old, and I’ve had the privilege of watching their love story unfold from the very beginning. They met when they were just 16 years old, got married right out of high school, and began an incredible life together as Cris served in the Navy. They traveled all over the country, built a beautiful family, and created a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to each other.
To know Windy and Cris was to love them. You rarely saw one without the other, and everywhere they went, they left a lasting impact on the people around them.
Now, after the unimaginable loss of Cris, Windy and their young children are facing a future no family should ever have to face. While nothing can take away their heartbreak, I hope we can help ease one burden by supporting them financially during this incredibly difficult time.
I didn’t ask Windy before starting this fundraiser because I know she’d probably kick my butt for doing it. But I also know she’d never ask for help herself, even when she needs it most.
