This past year has been a whirlwind, with so much happening that it's hard to put it all into words. My boyfriend, Leslie Ray Butler III, was the kindest, most generous person I ever met. We shared so many dreams and plans together, all of which came crashing down after a terrible car accident left him paralyzed. It felt as if life had tipped us into a storm we couldn't see coming.
Despite the challenges, Leslie's spirit remained unbroken. But then, he began having strokes, and his health took a sudden turn for the worse. Everything seemed to fall apart at lightning speed, and just when I thought things couldn’t get any harder, the worst happened. Leslie hasnt passed away he is currently in hospice everything happened so fast we didnt have the chance to secure life insurance, leaving us all reeling.
I never imagined having to plan a funeral so soon for someone who filled every day with laughter and love. Living in Sacramento, we always joked about how we’d grow old together under its sunny skies. Now, every memory here holds traces of him, and letting go feels impossible.
I want to give Leslie a resting place that honors his beautiful soul, surrounded by friends and family who loved him dearly. The path ahead feels daunting, but I'm determined to celebrate his life in the way it deserves.
