Betty (pictured below) was in a wildlife accident. At 8pm on November 10th, an unknown creature broke into my fenced yard and attacked her while she was outside; She came running up to my back door shaking and bleeding; We took her to the local Vet ER at 10pm last night.
The ER did a wonderful job stabilizing Betty and letting me know the crucial details: It was soft tissue damage that is deep reaching in her hyperdermus. They sterilized the area and told me they needed to perform surgery - there is a 3 inch long, deep cut into her groin area.
Regardless of fear of what the future holds, I agreed. They let me wish her goodnight and informed me her surgery would occur at 1:30AM. I hoped and prayed for the best, and headed home for an attempt at rest.

November 11, 2022:
The ER Vet called at 8AM, and explained that her bloodwork returned well, her surgery went well, and she should be waking up in an hour. While closing the main wound near her groin area, they also found 3 more smaller bite/punctures on her back left hindquarters. One of these wounds they closed, and the other two were cleaned and left open to heal. They mentioned because of the depth of the wound and the unique placement, they've had to come up with a unique way for her to be bandaged, and a Jackson-Pratt (JP) drain has been installed to prevent the wound from absessing, gathering liquid, and decaying her organs.
