Presenting the Yuma Excellent Educator Award!
This award, presented by Miss Yuma County’s Teen 2026, Lindsey Yu, will award the teachers in Yuma County who display excellence, initiative, leadership, and community. Teachers must be employed as educators in a school in Yuma County in the 2026-27 school year. Applications include a short essay, a short video, and, if chosen as a finalist, an interview. The top three teachers will receive recognition and prize packages, and one teacher will win the grand prize.
Prize packages for winning teachers include coffee, gift cards, in-kind services and donations, professional references, certificates, and cash awards.
Students, administrators, or community members can nominate a teacher who they believe goes above and beyond- someone who shows the true excellence of Yuma. A ballot of judges will choose finalists, and the winner will be selected by the same judges, top donors, and the Miss Yuma County scholarship program
In order for this project to work, we must rely on the beautiful community of Yuma. All of us need to come together- every single dollar, gift card, and donation goes straight to the educator. We won't take a cut.
Donating more than $300 in cash or in-kind service will get you a seat in the final judging panel, which will be interviews of the top five finalists, followed by a ballot ranking of who you think should win these funds.
