On Friday, January 23rd, my brother and sister in law had their world turned upside down when my sister-in-law, Sarah, was rushed into an emergency induction after being diagnosed with HELLP syndrome: a rare and life-threatening pregnancy complication. The condition was so severe that doctors had no choice but to induce labor at just 22 weeks.

That day, Sarah and Mitchell welcomed their precious baby boy, Kolter, weighing only 15 ounces. Against unimaginable odds, and by the grace of God, Kolter is still fighting for his life in the NICU taking things one hour, one breath, one miracle at a time.

What was meant to be a time of joyful anticipation has turned into an overwhelming journey filled with fear, uncertainty, and countless unknowns. As Mitchell and Sarah walk this heartbreaking road, they are facing not only the emotional toll of having a micro-preemie fighting for his life, but also the growing medical expenses and uncertainties that lie ahead.

If you are able, please consider donating to help support this sweet family during the hardest season of their lives. Most of all, we ask for prayers for Kolter, our tiny warrior, to keep fighting; and for Sarah and Mitchell, that they may feel strength, peace, hope, and unwavering support surrounding them every step of the way.

Kolter is already a miracle. Thank you for being part of his story. 💙🙏

It is with the deepest sorrow that we share that on Wednesday, January 27th, Kolter went to be with our Father in Heaven, surrounded by the love and arms of his mom and dad. After five days of bravely fighting and giving so much hope, Kolter suffered a devastating stage 4 brain bleed, and Mitchell and Sarah were faced with the unimaginable: saying goodbye to their precious baby boy.

Their hearts are shattered beyond words. As they grieve this unimaginable loss, Sarah is still physically recovering from HELLP syndrome, a rare and life-threatening pregnancy complication, while they also care for their toddler at home. The weight of this traumatic occurrence is overwhelming in every way.

Mitchell and Sarah are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and generosity already shown. At this time, they are asking for privacy and space to mourn the loss of their son as they try to navigate a pain no parent should ever know. Please honor their wishes by holding them close in prayer rather than reaching out directly.

If you feel led, donations will help ease the growing medical and financial burdens and allow them the time they desperately need to grieve. Thank you for praying without ceasing, and honoring Kolter’s beautiful life.
