Help Oliver Get the Care He Needs
Oliver isn’t “just” a dog — he’s Kendall’s beloved therapy dog, her loyal companion, and a constant source of comfort through life’s ups and downs. Anyone who knows Kendall knows how much Oliver means to her, and how deeply they depend on each other.
About two months ago, Oliver started showing signs of his allergies flaring up (he’s never done well in the desert climate). What seemed like a simple flare-up quickly turned into something more serious — an infection affecting the right side of his nose and eye. Soon, Kendall noticed slight facial drooping.
Two weeks ago, he was treated for both an eye and nose infection, and for a short while, it seemed like the antibiotics worked — Oliver was playful, talkative, and his goofy self again. But by last week, Kendall noticed troubling new symptoms: his right eye no longer blinked, and he was drooling from the right side of his mouth.
A recheck with the vet revealed something no one wanted to hear — Oliver has idiopathic facial paralysis on the right side of his face. Further testing confirmed his right eye is no longer producing tears, and he has likely lost sight in that eye. What was once just a “maybe” about seeing a neurologist has now become an urgent necessity.
The vet’s greatest concern is that a brain tumor could be causing the rapid progression of symptoms — something that must be diagnosed quickly. Oliver will need advanced diagnostic tests, specialist care, and continued veterinary treatment to give him the best chance at recovery and comfort.
We are asking for help to cover the mounting costs of Oliver’s medical care — including MRI (ranging anywhere from $3,100-$4,700) diagnostics, specialist consultations, and ongoing treatments.
Kendall has always done everything she can for Oliver, but this level of care is financially overwhelming. If you’ve ever met Oliver, you know how special he is — and how much joy he brings to everyone around him.
Any amount you can give will help Oliver get the care he needs and allow Kendall to keep her best friend, therapy partner, and constant source of comfort by her side for as long as possible.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your support, your kindness, and your prayers for Oliver.
