As part of becoming a Bar Mitzvah in the Jewish community, it is a common tradition to take on a community service project (a Mitzvah Project!). I wanted to raise money for World Central Kitchen, an amazing organization founded and run by Chef Jose Andres, who got his start right here in Washington, DC. WCK works all over the world wherever there is need for food, including right now in Israel, Gaza and Ukraine. They have already served over 350 million meals worldwide!
I've been ice skating since I was 4 and playing ice hockey since I was 6. When I thought about how I would raise money and awareness for WCK, I decided that an epic skate-a-thon would be a great idea. My goal is to raise $1,800 for WCK by skating 180 laps of the full-sized rink at Wheaton Ice Arena in Maryland, on February the 16th.
It would be meaningful to me if you could donate to my fundraiser. Since there are not really any costs involved, 100% of your donation will go straight to WCK!
Thank you for your support!!
Nat
