With in two weeks, our world shifted unexpectedly as we learned that Teresa, my daughter-in-law's beloved mother, was battling stage 4 cancer. It seemed impossible to comprehend how swiftly everything changed. Just yesterday, we faced the heartbreaking moment when Teresa passed away. She was a kind, loving spirit, and losing her has been difficult for our family, especially for my daughter-in-law sami and her children our grandbabies
Teresa's passing has left us in a situation we never imagined. Without insurance, the costs of a proper funeral are overwhelming. My daughter-in-law sami is now trying to navigate this painful period, unsure of how to give her mother the farewell she deserves. The uncertainty of it all weighs heavily on her while she grieves not only for her mother but also struggles for her kids’ sakes.
Together, we hope to find a way forward. Here in Terre Haute, we’ve always felt the strength of our community. It’s this sense of togetherness that gives us hope. By reaching out, we want to come together to lift some of this burden off my daughter-in-law's shoulders. With collective help, she can focus on remembering her mother with love, rather than worry.
