Help Support Yvette Lagazo as She Fights Stage 3 Cervical Cancer

This holiday season, while many of us are gathering with family and enjoying warmth and comfort, Yvette, is facing one of the hardest battles of her life, and she’s doing it without the basic stability most of us take for granted.

Yvette has been diagnosed with Stage 3 cervical cancer. The treatment is aggressive, exhausting, and incredibly hard on her body. After dedicating decades to her job, a place she had called home since she was a teenager, her health declined to the point she could no longer physically work. She turned what began as a small opportunity into a lifelong career through loyalty, commitment, and hard work. Heartbreakingly, when she became too ill to keep up, she was left without the support she deserved after so many years of dedication.

Now, she is not only fighting cancer, she is fighting homelessness. She has no means to keep a roof over her head and has exhausted all options, trying to stay warm through cold nights, and relying on the kindness of others when she can. With strained family relationships and limited support, she is facing this unimaginable reality largely on her own.

But if you know Yvette, you know she is so much more than the struggles she is facing right now. She is a woman of tremendous strength, compassion, perseverance and faith. She raised her daughter as a single mother, working tirelessly to provide stability, love, and opportunity. Today, her daughter is a thoughtful, hardworking, caring young woman and a passionate advocate for human rights, a reflection of how she was raised and of the values Yvette instilled in her through example. While Nevaeh is now a young adult, she needs her mother more than ever, but her mother is in such a vulnerable position that it leaves them both with a feeling of uncertainty and worry.

She is also incredibly creative and artistic. Crafting has always been one of her greatest joys, from designing beautiful handmade pieces to creating thoughtful gifts for others. She has a natural ability to turn simple materials into something meaningful and full of heart. Sadly, due to her health, lack of stability, and financial hardship, she can no longer enjoy the crafting and designing that once brought her peace and happiness. It’s one of many parts of her life that cancer has taken from her, but it remains a beautiful reminder of who she is at her core: someone who creates, gives, and brings beauty into the lives of others.

Yvette has always been someone who gives, someone who shows up, someone who sacrifices for the people she loves. No one who has poured so much of themselves into their work, their family, and their community should have to fight cancer while also worrying about where they will sleep or how they will survive.

Our Goal

Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 to help provide Yvette with stability, safety, and dignity during treatment. These funds will be used to help secure temporary housing, cover food and basic necessities, help with transportation to medical appointments, and assist with medical-related needs that are not otherwise covered. Even a small donation can help her have warmth, shelter, and the ability to focus on healing rather than simply surviving.

This fundraiser will help provide:
• Safe and stable housing
• Food, clothing, and hygiene needs
• Gas and transportation to medical appointments
• Medical-related costs not covered elsewhere
• Stability and dignity so she can focus on healing

I know many people are struggling right now, especially during the holiday season, but truly, even a few dollars can make a difference and it can be done anonymously if you’d prefer. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this page helps more than you know. Please also feel free to reach out if you would like to donate in other ways, warm food/gifts are always accepted.

Thank you for reading, caring, and supporting. Your kindness can give Yvette warmth, stability, hope, and the chance to continue this fight with dignity. ❤️
