Hi friends, Eric and Rowen here. We are excited about the opportunity to continue to serve God on his next big adventure for our lives. Please join us on our journey to support Kensington Church youth to go on Mission to the Dominican Republic. I feel God is calling me to take Rowen on mission and co-lead Kensington high school students to teach them that the world does not revolve around us, and that we are built for Gods grand purpose. The Mission trip provides our students with the chance to reflect upon and share Gods heart introducing people to Christ and his teachings.
The DR mission trip is designed to serves others, all the while helping Rowen, our Edge students and myself to grow in our faith. It allows us to meet and interact with Dominican Republic youth and leaders, creating new relationships helping us learn about their culture, experiences, and ways of life. Its Gods opportunity to broaden our sons and daughter’s horizons and expand our worldview all while creating memories that last a lifetime. We will hear about their journeys and learn about people whose experiences are much different from our own. At the same timewe also get to share who we are, where you come from, and what we think and believe. It’s a two-way experience that builds greater awareness on both sides. We will develop new relationships that will help to broaden our horizons and expand our worldview, creating bonds and memories that will last a lifetime.
I must confess I struggled with the cost of this mission trip. As a family we felt overwhelmed by the idea of raising 5,500 dollars. However, Jesse and Lizbeth, our Kensington Edge leaders, Ron Schaffner, Kendal, and Ben our 10th grade boys Edge co-leaders, Bob and our Legendary Lapeer men’s group and many others encouraged us to step out in faith because what seems impossible to me is completely possible for God.
