On that day, in Batoh_Numba (Upper Banyang Sub‑Division, Manyu Division), Bah Median was caught in the cross‑fire and shot multiple times, with bullets violently destroying her face and injuring several parts of her body. Her survival was nothing short of miraculous. Yet survival was only the beginning of a long, painful journey.
Her Fight to Reclaim Her Life
Since the attack, Bah Median has undergone a series of complex surgeries in Cameroon and abroad—each one aimed at restoring basic functions and stabilizing her condition. Despite the progress made, her medical team has confirmed that she still requires seven major reconstructive surgeries to fully repair the extensive damage to her face and regain her physical and emotional wholeness.
These final procedures must be performed in the United States, with an estimated cost of $65,000. Unfortunately, the Ayah International Foundation—previously supporting her care—has had its accounts frozen and can no longer fund her medical needs. Bah Median is now left with no financial safety net.
