River City Water Ski Show Team was established in 1972 and continues to put on entertaining FREE community water ski shows weekly through the summer months at Airport Beach in La Crosse, WI. River City is also involved with adaptic water skiing, which they partner with nasa to provide 2 days of FREE water skiing for individuals that have some form of phyiscal challenge. In addition to the adaptive waterski River City also puts on a Learn to Ski day, teaching community members how to water ski.
River City is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that is 100% volunteer! Our team finances are based strictly on member dues, fundraising, and our awesome sponsors! Some of our fundraising includes: Linda's Bakery Chocolate Chip Cookie Sale, volunteering at the Beer, Cheese, Wine Fest in La Crosse, Kwik Trip and Great Lake Scrip Programs, and Skiing at RiverFest.
Despite all of our fundraising and finanical help from our sponsors we are finding our funds running short this year after we learned that our main boat needs a new motor. This has to be replaced before we are able to pull any skiers this season. The cost of replacing the motor is approximatlely $6,000.
We are asking our community for their support in helping us raise funding to cover the new motor.
