My name is Gregg Newsome from Hartsville, SC. My wife and I with our 2 beautiful, gifted daughters currently live in Murrells Inlet, SC. We moved here in 2013 to give our children a better education and life. A lot of people call me Gregg The Hammer because I play drums. I love music but haven't played in a long time.
In 2014 I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer with a 5% chance of survival as it was initially considered inoperable. Dr. Dinlinger, a Throacic Surgeon walked in and asked to see my chart. Little did we know that God had sent this gifted surgeon who told me the mass could be removed but that chemo and radiation were required first. Afterward, at MUSC the surgeons were able to remove the cancer, but I lost that lung. The effects of chemo and radiation have taken a massive toll on my physical and emotional health. I have remained cancer free until this past month.
In July I was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. The mass in my Bladder can be removed and plans are being made to do the surgery. The fear strikes again. Fear that I might not survive this time.
Why I need financial assistance is because I have been self-employed for many years and can’t afford to be out of work to have this surgery. There will be no income because the 6 day stay to diagnose this problem completely exhausted our bank account. Facing Bladder surgery to remove the mass will put me out of work about 4 weeks. During that time, no income can be made.
