John McCoy is a quiet and kind husband and father. He was born in Holland, Michigan and a West Ottawa public school graduate.
In 1989, John survived a serious car accident and broke his neck and several vertebrae. He was unable to walk and was placed in a Halo for six months, in order to heal. Although the odds were against him, John through sheer grit and determination he fought hard to walk and achieved that goal within 2 years of the accident.
After undergoing several surgeries, John was diagnosed with Stage IV prostate cancer with metastasis to his bones in March, 2020. The cancer has now spread to his spine, ribs, hip, and skull.
John has been here before and refuses to give up without a fight. In February, 2022, he began treatments at Cancer Treatments Centers of America in Zion, Illinois. He completed his radiation treatment in May, and is now on a waiting list for available clinical trials. John's wife, Stephanie, stands faithfully by his side supporting him through the treatments and this unexpected journey.
Loss of wages and traveling expenses are taking their toll on this family. If you or anyone you know, feels prompted to help John's fight disease, any amount would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration and genorosity!
