Daniel aka Danny Shoats, now 48, is a young husband and father who was very fun loving& hard working until sickness and cancer came along. About 5 years ago he started struggling with health problems but it wasn't until a little over 2 years ago that a mass was discovered in his bladder. After a major surgery to create a synthetic bladder last summer all his loved ones were hopeful the cancer would be cured and stay in remission. Then after another major surgery of an open hernia repair earlier this year, again we all hoped he could finally start feeling better and that some normalcy of life world return, only to find out this summer that the cancer had now metastisized to a rare area. So another major surgery was done late summer/early fall to try to keep it from spreading even further, but that failed.
**Updated - When I first posted this his prognosis was around 2 months, now likely just weeks/1 mth. He is in his finally stages& with his 2 young daughter's at home, his inability to take care of himself& his wife still trying to work& get enough money since they are now asking her to now pre-pay 1 mth to stay at his current location. Staying would be the best at this point since moving him would be 2 hard on him& the family plus he has got to know& love the staff, and them him& they all know what he needs to best care for him, plus it would not save any $$ and bc the amount of medication needed to just keep his pain from being unbearable, exposing the girls to that trauma& him passing peacefully at home, is not an option for the family. He is at the Lifecare center in Hixson now, (Hixson, TN) please donate so he can stay there so it can remain as comfortable as possible for him, his wife& kids and other loved ones, and she won't be in such financial distress on top of everything else.
