Hi! My name is Erin, and this is my service dog Maya! I have several psychiatric conditions that make it very hard to operate outside of my home. I adopted Maya from a shelter and spent a year training her to do tasks to mitigate my disabilities. Maya helps me be able to go out in public independently by alerting me to oncoming seizures and panic attacks, keeping people from getting too close to me, finding exits, bathrooms, and my car, doing deep pressure therapy and other smaller tasks. Recently she's been unable to walk on her left and right hind legs, and I found out that she has a cranial cruciate ligament tear in both knees, which is the equivalent of an ACL tear in both. The only way to fix these tears is surgery, which is expensive.  Of the $10,000 it will cost for both knees, I only have $6,000 left I cannot cover. Without this surgery, Maya cannot continue to be my service dog as she cannot walk well. Will you please consider donating to help me and my service dog Maya live an independent life?
