In a few minutes your direction in life can change and your small sense of safety can be whisked away. Racism, ableism and classiscism are all things that effect families that our houseless. We are used to this by now, but it still doesn't prepare you financially or emotionally to experience it.
Friday, thanks to ableism, Cook was wrongfully terminated from a state university. The short term he was there was stressful and filled with harassment and retailiation.
Our immediate goal for now, is just being able to stay off the streets until we can find other employment and supports can kick in.
