UPDATE:
A set back for the Hartmans. Abby’s wounds got infected after 5 months of packing them and dealing with them every day. She has been in the hospital for a few days and had surgery to remove the infected tissue and now has wound vacs. She will be off work again for a bit altering her position at work and she is losing her benefits. It’s been five long months but still dealing with the aftermath. Please keep
Sharing to help through this rough patch.
On 1/13/26 Abby was in a major car accident. She has a LONG road to recovery. She has some pretty severe injuries including broken shoulder, severe trauma to her legs, internal injuries, neck fracture and more. Her car was totaled. They are going to need some support to pay bills, while she is not able to work. She will need a new car. Her husband is taking time off work to be with her in the hospital. They have 2 small children. Any thing helps. Help us, help the Hartmans.
UPDATE 1/15/26
They are hoping to move her out of ICU today. Still has severe open wounds on the legs, they are watching the tears in both carotid arteries in her neck, and the fractured vertebrae in the neck, monitoring the internal bleeding. BUT on a good note I took her Chick Fli A and she is chatty and doing ok. Long road ahead. SHARE SHARE SHARE We want Brant and the kids to be comfortable and not have to worry about being behind on bills and everything else while she is working back to normal.
UPDATE 1/16/26
Still in ICU still hoping to downgrade to normal, maybe today. Nothing new. Still watching all the areas. Means we are headed in the right direction. Talking about possibly being able to go home next week, with every other day doctor appointments to deal with the open leg wounds and cleaning them out and the vacuum seal stuff. Home will be good but still a LONG road to full recovery and they will need all the help they can get. She will be down for a VERY EXTENDED period of time. But she is alive so we will take it!! I am collecting door dash gift cards and household stuff (laundry soap, toilet paper, snacks for the kids etc) we want them to be able to focus on her getting better and Brant is going to have ALOT on his plate. Just shoot me a message if you would like to help with any of that kind of stuff. SHARE SHARE SHARE we want to keep this circulating as much as possible please. Thank you to any one who has donated or checked in with us or just shared this. Abby and Brant appreciate it more then you know. They are so grateful, as is our entire family.
UPDATE 1/17/26
Moved out of ICU late yesterday. Normal room now. Progressing forward. Moving from bed to chair is getting a little easier. Have her taking a few steps. Any steps forward are good ones.
UPDATE 1/18/26
She is in good spirits today. Able to use the restroom. Back and forth in chair and bed. A few steps a day. They are talking about moving her again, she went from ICU to an almost normal floor and now to the fully normal floor. You get what I'm saying. None of this is normal but it means she is doing well enough to not need all the extra monitoring. They are still watching the arteries in the neck and the fracture, she will be in the neck brace for at least 6 weeks. when they release her she will still have the vacuum machine attached to both legs with the open wounds. We got her an adjustable bed (like hospital bed) for when she comes home. Making plans for when she is home and hoping that is this week. She will have someone with her at all times. Probably Macy, when Brant is working. She is making good progress in this bad situation.
UPDATE 1/21/26
She is at home! We have Macy there full time to help with any and all needs. Adjustable bed being delivered today. So her new downstairs bedroom will be ready for her. We still have a long road ahead. Please keep sharing. ANYONE that vi needs to wear a mask, and sanitize hands as soon as you come in the door. We want to keep all germs and viruses out. We have both masks and sanitizer. NOT optional. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE SHARING THIS. KEEP IT GOING!!!!!!!
UPDATE 2/17/26
Even though she is home she is not out of the woods yet still some issues with the carotid artery in the neck and of course the legs that are still open wounds along with the healing neck fracture and knee and shoulder, keeping an eye on the spleen and internal injuries. Healing but in super slow motion. We still have a long road ahead with recovery. She has had 24 hour help since the day she came home and we will continue with that. We greatly appreciate everyone of you and your donations and sharing this. KEEP SHARING!!!!!!!!!!!!
