Walking home late one evening, I stumbled upon a little stray dog, his tiny cries echoing in the empty street. His big eyes were full of fear and confusion, and he was shivering. I couldn't leave him there, so I scooped him up and brought him home. I decided to call him Dinki because of his small and delicate stature. After a warm meal and a cozy spot to rest, I took him to the vet the next morning, anxious yet hopeful for good news.
The visit, however, brought heartbreaking information. Dinki tested positive for heartworms, a serious condition that requires treatment. As if that weren’t enough, the vet also noticed Dinki’s severe limp. He explained that surgery on his hind leg would be necessary for him to live without constant pain. Seeing Dinki's little body dealing with so much pain broke my heart, but his gentle spirit gives me hope that with the right help, we can give him the happy life he deserves.
