This is my best friend Miguel. He is a taxi driver in Peru, and he is the primary breadwinner for his family. He supports his mother, two children and a wife. Miguel has had a tumor in his “sitting area” for a couple of years, and it has now progressed to being life threatening. He has sepsis that he is treating with antibiotics as he can, he cannot work, and he needs surgery. He relies on working each day to earn enough to buy their basic necessities - food, shelter and clothing. He has not been able to work in several months and is behind on his rent to the point of eviction, he relies on handouts to feed his family. He needs medications and an operation to fix the problem so he can get back to work. I have tried to help him as much as I can, but I have encountered my own problems and do not currently have the ability to help him as much as he needs.
The public health system in Peru will only pay for 50% of his surgery and meds, he has to pay the rest upfront. This is a situation that will only lead to death and the homelessness of women and children if there is nobody to help him. I plead that this community help me to help him by achieving the $10,000 goal and hopefully more.
God bless - que Dios les bendiga
