I am reaching out with a heavy heart after a horrific and deeply traumatic experience that my son and I survived in our own home. For three days, we were held captive, and during that time I was tied up and brutally beaten in front of my child. While my son was not physically harmed, he witnessed everything and both of us have been left with deep emotional and mental scars. Our home, which once felt safe, now holds painful memories that we can no longer face, and we are in the process of leaving and finding a new place to live so we can begin to heal and feel safe again.
