WILDE WOMEN is a solo performance piece centered on the female characters from the plays of Oscar Wilde. I wrote it in 2016 with the vision of performing it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, but Life placed other priorities in my path. This year I have finally had the opportunity to put the play on its feet and bring it to the festival. After three preview performances in Fort Worth TX in June, I will premier it in Edinburgh 1-16 August. The exorbitant costs associated with travel, venue rental, housing and production in Edinburgh are hard to swallow, and while I have received some funding from grants, the balance is still more that one could cover on a university professor's salary. The funding will help with the publicity, promotion, and production costs so that we are successful in attracting audiences and media buzz, which will hopefully lead to publication of the script and interest from theatre companies both in the US and abroad.
