Yesterday, my soon to be brother in law, walked out of his home in Richmond VA and noticed a brutal mauling of a cat by two dogs. Noticing that he recognized the cat as a neighbors, he acted quickly and rushed to break up the fight. Pushing the dogs out of the way and scaring them off, he evaluated the very injured cat. Wrapping the cat in his own jacket, he picked up the animal in distress. Under these circumstances, the cat reacted and accidentally bit David on his finger. He handed off the cat quickly and sadly the cat did not survive. After returning to his home shortly there after David told his fiancé he was having trouble breathing. Knowing he was somewhat allergic to cats but not exactly sure by how much, they rushed to find his inhaler and epipen. Shortly there after his symptoms greatly increased and they called 911. He was rushed to the hospital and his condition worsened as a rash took over his body and shock began to set in. Later that day, in ICU, the doctors were able to get his reaction under control and by the picture you can see he is finally on the up and up, despite needing to spend the night in hospital.
The reason we're staring this fund is to help out a person who was trying to the right thing as a neighbor and animal lover. And to hopefully alleviate some of the monetary stress that has already been placed on their wallets for their wedding in 2.5 months and now a hefty medical/hospital bill to follow.
