As some of you may know I have a furry friend named Kahlùa Ann. Kahlùa is a 9 year old boxer lab mix. I've raised her from the wee age of 6 weeks old and she's become my best pal. While she may not be a "licensed" therapy dog, my dog has been more helpful for my anxiety than anything or anyone in this world. Last May of 2021, Lúa had 3-4 small lesions removed. Turns out they were melanoma. Her surgery was a success as the vets said they got it all and she is as healthy as ever. That was a penny pinching year for me as I've followed my dreams of working with children, teachers don't do it for the money. However, Kahlùa's story is taking another turn.. 3 months ago I started noticing 3-4 new lesions appear. Vets say she's perfectly healthy besides all this but her blood work is showing cancerous protein cells again. Her surgery is scheduled for mid December and will be approximately a grand. I've never been the type of person to ask for help from others, but I am praying to God that he will lead Lua and I in the right healthy direction. If you are able to help in any way shape or form, anything helps! Lua has been my A1 since day one and I want her to live a long happy fulfilling life. Once her surgery is complete and she's healthy we will also have to see an oncologist to determine whether or not she needs chemo or any other medical attention. As hard working I've had my own medical issues to attend to this past year and this is going to be financially exhausting. While it's not mandatory to ask for help, I've exhausted all my options. Whether it's $5 or $20, anything helps and if you're not able to help I do ask for all the prayers in the world for my little Lùa. She's gotten me through more tough times than anyone could ever imagine. She truly is my emotional support dog and I would be lost without her.
