Support Mike Nethercote and His Family in His Fight Against Brain Cancer Glioblastoma
Mike Nethercote is a devoted husband to his wife, Lucia, and an incredible father to their two boys, Mikey and Niko. His family is truly his entire world. Mike and Lucia have built a beautiful life centered around love, kindness, and always supporting others.
Lucia is a teacher at Seminole Ridge High School and is loved by so many of her students. She is known for being a positive, encouraging presence in their lives every day, and the impact she has on her students and community is truly special.
Recently, Mike began experiencing concerning symptoms, including memory loss. After medical evaluations, he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive and fast-growing brain tumor. This diagnosis has been devastating for their family, and the road ahead will be incredibly challenging.
As of today, Mike is undergoing laser surgery along with a biopsy, and we are asking everyone to please keep him in your prayers for a successful procedure and positive outcome. This important step will help doctors better understand the tumor and determine the best treatment plan moving forward.
Because of the seriousness of the tumor and the treatments ahead, Mike is currently unable to work as he begins this fight. The next stages of care may include radiation and chemotherapy, which will require time, strength, and ongoing medical care.
Mike was initially seen at Palm West Hospital, but after seeking a second opinion at the University of Miami, the family is now working closely with their medical team to determine the best path forward and ensure Mike receives the highest level of care possible.
He is currently on medication to help manage swelling and prevent seizures, and he is surrounded by an incredible amount of love and support from family, friends, and the community.
As you can imagine, the medical expenses, treatments, hospital stays, and everyday costs during this time can quickly become overwhelming. Since Mike is unable to work right now, we are hoping to raise funds to help support the family and ease the financial burden so they can focus on what matters most, Mike’s health and recovery.
If you are able, please consider donating. No amount is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to give, sharing this page and keeping Mike and his family in your prayers would mean the world to them.
Thank you for your love, support, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
The Nethercote Family
