This is my only cousin, Anton, from Kharkiv, Ukraine, the city where I was born and grew up. This is his very first car that his family ever owned that he purchased just 6 months ago. Little did he know that it would save his family and allow him to help bring so many other women and children to safety and bring supplies to those in need.
When the war started, Anton drove his wife, his 7 year old daughter, mother and grandmother 10 hours west to a little village close to the Polish border, where it’s “safe”. His father, my uncle, stayed back in Kharkiv to care for the animals and is now undergoing training to fight in the city defense.
Since they left, Anton has made countless 20 hour round trips back to Kharkiv to rescue more children and women and is now going back and forth non-stop with his friends. These young men risk their lives every day to bring humanitarian aid from the Polish border to our city Kharkiv, and people back to safety. Remember.. the Russian army unfortunately doesn’t discriminate when shelling cars on the road… or shooting rockets.
Anton and his friends have exhausted all of their own means for this 100% volunteer work. I already sent them money for gas, food, supplies and to repair the car, which broke down due to so much use, but they could really use as much help as possible.
I really hope that this fund could help to keep their volunteer work going and help so many people in need.
The money raised will be sent to them via Wise and will be used for gas, food, medications, humanitarian aid, bulletproof vests, nightvision and any other military supplies they are able to buy and bring back for city defenders.
Thank you all anything helps!
Sincerely,
Daria (Dasha)
