🌿 Redding Area Resistance & Education:
Collective Mission Statement
We are a community collective committed to cultivating connection, awareness, and meaningful local engagement rooted in care, equity, education, and resilience. Our purpose is to:
• Build strong relationships through mutual support, shared values, and collective care
• Center education and community learning as essential tools for liberation and empowerment
• Maintain a space where people feel respected, affirmed, and free to explore their identities and beliefs
• Bridge systemic gaps through intentional community-building that fosters belonging, safety, and interdependence
• Expand collective understanding of the systems that produce inequity and harm, and how we can disrupt them together
• Share information about community gatherings, learning opportunities, and civic engagement
• Offer resources for staying safe in public and private spaces, both digitally and physically
• Support individual growth and leadership as part of a thriving, interconnected whole
• Show up for those most impacted by systemic neglect and discrimination
• Network with aligned groups to create a unified, values-driven local presence
We believe in starting where we live. Civic engagement at city council, school board, and county-level meetings is a key part of shaping a more just and responsive community.
By being present, informed, and involved, we help steward local spaces toward safety, equity, and liberation for all. We:
• Recognize the isolating effects of systems driven by profit and power over people
• Believe in the transformative power of community, education, and relationship as vehicles for change
• Envision a world where essential needs are met through mutual trust, shared responsibility, and collective care
• Honor the dignity, autonomy, and wisdom of all people—especially those whose voices are too often silenced
We are grounded in care, solidarity, and a commitment to lifelong learning. We strive to center, protect, and uplift the voices and experiences of Black, Indigenous, immigrant, Palestinian, LGBTQIA+, and other historically oppressed community members. We commit to listening, unlearning, and amplifying truths that challenge dominant narratives.
We move with intention, awareness, and discretion—knowing that safety, trust, and clarity are the foundation of true resilience. We welcome discomfort as an invitation to grow, and hold space for courageous conversations that build bridges where the system never intended them to exist.
