My wife and I never thought we would be in a position where we had to ask for help like this, but we have reached a point where we truly do not know what else to do.
Between us, we work five jobs just to try to stay afloat. I work three jobs, and my wife works two. Even working constantly, we have struggled for years to keep up with debts, bills, and everyday expenses. Every time it feels like we might finally get ahead, something else happens that knocks us back down.
After working and saving for as long as we could, we finally managed to buy a VW Routan SE seven weeks ago. It was supposed to help us stabilize our lives and make it possible to continue getting to work and supporting our family.
Then, on May 7, 2026, everything changed.
We were involved in a car accident, and the van was totaled in the front by another driver. Now we are being told insurance may not cover the loss, leaving us without reliable transportation at the exact moment we need it most.
This is what my vehicle looked like just before. It was in excellent condition.
This is what my vehicle looked like after the accident.
I was also injured in the accident.
Because insurance is denying coverage, the ambulance ride, ER visit, testing, and medical treatment will likely become our responsibility as well.
As devastating as this has been, it came only one week after another major emergency. My wife suddenly became seriously ill and had to go through two ER visits and a PCP visit all in the same day. She is now scheduled to see a specialist and has been told she will likely need surgery.
On top of everything else, we are already carrying approximately $11,500 in debt, not including student loans, which we have been trying our hardest to pay down responsibly.
We are also trying to build a future together. We have three cats we love dearly (Loki, Lula, and Lyra), and we are trying to start a family while navigating all of these hardships at once.
We are not asking for luxury or an easy life. We are hardworking people who are simply trying to survive, replace our transportation, keep up with medical expenses, and take care of the family we are trying so hard to build.
It is incredibly hard for me to ask for help publicly. I have always wanted to be the person who handles things on my own. But right now, we are overwhelmed, exhausted, and scared about how we are going to keep getting to work and cover everything ahead of us.
Any support, no matter how small, would mean more to us than words can express. Even sharing this fundraiser could make a real difference for our family.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us through one of the hardest moments of our lives.
